Cut a piece of non-stretchable string or paper and wrap it around the finger you want to measure.
Make sure that it is not too tight or too loose.
Find the exact place where the circle is completed around your finger and mark the spot with a pen.

Measure the completed circle piece of the string with a ruler (in mm).
If you do have a ring that fits on the finger, just measure the diameter of the circle.
